Part 1: Preparation
I didn't really get to do much in terms of preparation. I unfortunately missed several CC armories due to my horrible sleeping schedule. Most of the prep was crammed the week of the RTN. I did, however, get a lot of reps against my girlfriend who's a Dromai main - I lost to her a lot.
Part 2: Deck Choice
I used to play Fai but with the new heroes from Heavy Hitters, I thought Fai wouldn't enjoy a meta with valiant dynamo, insane block cards, fridge armors, and wager/clash mechanics.
I decided to play Kano mainly because I really enjoy playing Kano. Coincidentally, Kano seems to do pretty well in the new meta.
I missed the chance to send him off in Blitz as he got banned just before our Skirmish. So I'm going to try and play Kano as much as I can in CC.
Part 3: The Grind
I got a lot of practice the week of RTN with my Emeritus for 4 teammates. Had a lot of practice against Dromai which was a disheartening experience. I also got some reps against Azalea, Kassai, Dorinthea, Levia, and Boltyn.
Part 4: D-day RTN
I got most of my rest during the drive from Davao to Cagayan de Oro. We don't have a lot of info regarding the local meta in CDO so we weren't really sure what to expect.
I met a lot of kind and great players. Everyone that we met was very welcoming. CDO also has a diverse meta and a lot of them seem to respect Kano, seeing as many brought AB3 and Oasis.
Part 5: Overall experience
The whole RTN in CDO has been an amazing experience. I'm glad I got to play with new faces and new decks.
I love that they have their streaming setup. Sitting on that table made me nervous but I'm also glad that I have something to watch at home and something to share with friends.
I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and positive energy throughout the RTN.
And of course, the cherry on top - the Goil Foil Ragamuffin's Hat.
I can't be any happier having met more of the community here in Mindanao. And I can't wait to play with everyone again.
